Entry Level Raiding Gear Targets (WotLK)
The numbers that follow are intended to be solid targets for attributes/stats to help guide people in their gear choices in preparation for raiding. The table below lists some suggested goals for characters that are planning to begin raiding. These values are unbuffed. Talents can be taken into consideration, e.g. a Fire Mage may fall short on general Spell Critical, but their talents provide +9% to Fire Spell Critical chance.

* - after adding in class abilities and Talents
** - all casters must have at least 14% Hit before accounting for Misery or Improved Faerie Fire; ideally, casters would be able to hit 17%, but given the itemization and design of the game, we appreciate that can be difficult to accomplish without negative impact. Do you best to manage this issue so that the absence of a Moonkin or Shadow Priest is not a significantly negative impact.
Note On Hit-Capping
This used to be 9% for 2H Weapons, Ranged Weapons, and special attacks; and up to 28% for dual wielding. Evidence has suggested that the 9% value may now be 8%. You should understand your class mechanics and strive for the appropriate value.

Special Needs
- Hateful Bolt Soaker for Curator fight: It is useful for this character to have AR gear, but not necessary.
Group Mix
Overall, Karazhan really rewards parties that have each class represented. The various special class abilities have a chance to really shine in one or more places. So, overall, I feel that any raid into Karazhan should strive for the most diverse class mix possible.
Key Assumptions
- The same ten people will be present from start to finish.
- The group has gear and skill appropriate for Karazhan, i.e. not under geared or over geared
